Terms of use
Last updated: 28 October 2026
These terms explain how you can use Low Battery’s website, posts and emails, and how voting works. We’ve kept them as short and plain as we can. Nothing in them takes away the rights the law gives you as a consumer. We don’t sell anything yet; before anything goes on sale, we’ll add the terms for buying here.
1. Who we are
Low Battery is a daily story series on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube Shorts, with a website at lowbattery.show. It is run by:
- [LEGAL NAME], a sole proprietor established in Greece
- Address: [ADDRESS]
- VAT number: [VAT NUMBER]
- Trade register (G.E.MI.) number: [GEMI NUMBER, if any]
- Email: hello@lowbattery.show
- Phone: [PHONE]
In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean [LEGAL NAME]. “You” means anyone who watches, votes, visits the website or signs up for email.
[LEGAL NAME] decides what Low Battery publishes, and is responsible for it: the series, its captions, the website and our emails.
2. What these terms cover
These terms apply to:
- the website lowbattery.show;
- our official accounts: @lowbattery.show on Instagram and TikTok, and @thelowbatteryshow on YouTube;
- our emails.
When you use Instagram, TikTok or YouTube, their own terms apply too. Those platforms don’t run Low Battery and aren’t responsible for it.
These documents are part of these terms:
- the Vote rules (lowbattery.show/vote-rules);
- the Privacy policy (lowbattery.show/privacy), which explains how we handle personal data.
3. About the series
Based on real events. The main characters are fictional.
Low Battery tells an invented story inside a real historical event. In Season 1, that event is the sinking of RMS Titanic in April 1912, in which about 1,500 people died. The series includes danger, fear and loss. It never shows gore, and it never makes jokes about the people who died.
- Real people from the historical record appear only doing what the record says they did.
- We never sell a real passenger’s or crew member’s name, story or likeness.
- The history in each part is real, and we list our sources on the website. If you spot a mistake, tell us: we’ll check it and fix it.
Low Battery isn’t connected with or endorsed by Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, or any film, museum, company or organisation linked to the Titanic.
4. Voting
- Voting is free, and it always will be. You vote in the comments or the native poll of each part’s post, as the Vote rules explain.
- Votes can’t be bought. Nothing we sell gives you a vote, extra votes, more weight, a head start or any say over the story. Brands that pay for a placement get no say either.
- The vote decides your choice, not history. The winning option decides what you do in the next part. The big historical events still happen as recorded. We write how the winning choice plays out.
- There’s nothing to win. The vote isn’t a lottery, a prize draw or a competition. The Lookouts board, for people who find a hidden third option, is a public thank-you, not a prize, and it can’t be bought.
The Vote rules explain how we count votes, when they close (8:30 am US Eastern time) and what happens in a tie.
5. Using the website and our posts
You’re welcome to watch, read, share links to our posts and pages, and talk about the story anywhere.
Please don’t:
- copy, re-upload or sell our episodes, artwork, music or text, except as the platforms’ own sharing tools allow;
- pretend to be us, our character account or anyone connected with the series;
- use bots, scripts or fake accounts to vote or comment, or to copy content from our website or posts in bulk;
- try to break, overload or get around the security of our website;
- break the acceptable use rules in section 8.
We may change, pause or stop parts of the website or the series. We’ll try to keep things running, but we can’t promise that the website or the platforms will always be available.
6. Ideas and comments you share
You keep the rights in what you write. When you suggest an idea in a comment or a message (a third option, a theory, a correction), you agree that:
- we may use, change or combine your idea in the story or on our website, or not use it at all;
- we may quote your comment and show your public handle (for example, on the Lookouts board), unless you ask us not to;
- we don’t owe you payment for an idea. Many people suggest similar ideas, and we may already have written yours.
For this, you give us a free, worldwide, non-exclusive permission to use and quote what you post on our posts, for the series and its promotion. You can ask us to stop quoting you at any time.
7. Intellectual property
- The series (its story, scripts, characters, names, episodes, artwork, music, logo and website) is our work or licensed to us. It’s protected by copyright, trademark and other laws, to the full extent those laws allow.
- You may watch, share and discuss it for personal, non-commercial purposes. Fan art and fan theories are welcome if they’re non-commercial, don’t use our logo and don’t look official.
- We expressly reserve our rights to text and data mining of our content (Article 4(3) of Directive (EU) 2019/790). Our website and posts may not be copied or collected in bulk.
- If you think something we’ve posted infringes your rights, email hello@lowbattery.show with the details and we’ll look at it promptly.
8. Acceptable use
Our comments are part of the story, so we keep them welcoming. On our posts, our website and in messages to us, please don’t:
- harass or threaten anyone, or post hate speech or slurs;
- joke about or mock the people who died, or the people who share their family history with us;
- post spam, scams or harmful links;
- vote with bots or fake or bought accounts, or organise people to flood a vote with fake votes;
- share other people’s personal information;
- post spoilers from material that isn’t public yet;
- break the law or the platform’s rules.
If you do, we may hide or delete your comments, not count your votes, remove you from the Lookouts board or block you.
9. Our responsibility to you
- We’re responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to take reasonable care. We’re not responsible for loss that wasn’t foreseeable, or that’s caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as a platform outage or a platform removing comments.
- We don’t limit our responsibility for intent or gross negligence, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.
- The history on our website is for general interest. We work hard to get it right, but please check the sources before relying on it.
- If you use our website for business purposes, our total responsibility to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before your claim.
10. Changes
- To the series: stories change, and so may our schedule. Parts are normally posted every day at 7 pm US Eastern time.
- To these terms: we may update them. We’ll post the new version here, with the date it applies from.
11. Ending things
You can stop using the website or unsubscribe at any time.
12. Complaints and the law
- Talk to us first: email hello@lowbattery.show. We aim to reply within [5] working days.
- Consumer bodies: if we can’t sort it out, consumers in Greece can contact the Hellenic Consumer Ombudsman (Συνήγορος του Καταναλωτή, synigoroskatanaloti.gr). If you live in another EU country, the European Consumer Centres Network can help with cross-border complaints (in Greece: eccgreece.gr).
- Law: Greek law governs these terms. If you’re a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in the courts there.
- Businesses: the courts of [CITY], Greece, decide any dispute.
